Interventional Spine management is a discipline that keeps evolving and improving. I strive to offer my patients the widest variety of diagnostic techniques and treatment options to personalize the Interventional spine management for the individual, thus decreasing or eliminating altogether the impact of pain on their life and function.
Profile
Dr. Basem has extensive clinical experience in interventional spine care, spinal cord stimulator implantation, radiofrequency ablation techniques and disc decompression techniques. He is a board certified.
Dr Basem was raised in Cairo, Egypt where he received his medical degree In 1995. He had done additional clinical and research training in National Cancer Institute, Cairo ,Egypt where he obtained his M.SC. in 2000. After years of training, he continued to gain experience in interventional spine care and he obtained his Doctorate(M.D.) in 2005. Then, he relocated to the United States where he completed his Fellowship of Interventional Pain Practice(FIPP) at the Texas Tech University – Texas in 2010.
Dr. Basem is one of the Middle East leading Interventional spine procedures experts. He is one the first physician in the Middle East to offer intradiscal electrothermal therapy and radiofrequency ablation. In addition, Dr. Basem is a nationally respected lecturer in Interventional spine procedures.
While skilled in the most advanced interventional techniques available, Dr. Basem's approach to patient care is truly multidisciplinary. He works closely with patients and consults other specialists to determine the underlying cause of the problem and the most complete course of care.
Spine Care Center (SCC) Foundation
As the Founder and CEO of SCC , Prof. Dr Basem Henry got enthusiastic about the Idea of how Interventional Spine procedures has caused a huge revolution in the treatment of Spine patients avoiding the risk of surgery and medications.
He travelled worldwide searching for the recent and newest techniques in spine intervention procedures so he participated in lectures, conventions and workshops inUK (London, Liverpool ),Hungary (Budapest),USA( New York, Ohio, Florida), Germany( Munich, Hamburg), Canada( Toronto).
Dr Basem realized that there was a large population of Spine patients with nowhere to turn for medical help. He had a vision to create a highly skilled staff with a commitment to patient care, so in 2010 he founded SCC. Currently, SCC is one of the largest Interventional Spine Center in the Middle East, offering the broadest array of Interventional Spine management Procedures administered by the nation’s top staff.
Hobbies/Special Interests:
Prof.Dr. Basem enjoys spending time with his lovely wife, and his three beautiful sons. He enjoys swimming, racquetball and jogging.

- Instructor and Trainer for "The Egyptian Fellowship Program for Spine Care using the Minimally Invasive Techniques".
- Instructor and Trainer of The Gulf Company, The only agent for Radio- Frequency( RF) devices, for training new doctors on using RF on minimally invasive techniques for the spine.
- Workshop instructor for Nasser Institute for Research and Treatment Hospital, Cairo, Egypt.
- Workshop instructor for Cadaveric Courses of ESMP.
- Lecturer of Interventional pain procedures in several Egyptian Universities as Mansoura University , Ain-Shams University and Assiut University.
- Lecturer of Interventional pain procedures at Ajman University, United Arab Emirates.
